Licensinsing Scheme requires new drivers to pass through three licensing stages before achieving a full drivers licence.
- Learners licence
- Provisional P1 licence
- Provisional P2 licence
Going for your L’s
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Pass a Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) at the RMS registry.
- Prove your identity
- Pass an eye sight test
Going for your P’s
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Have held your learner licence for at least 12 months (if you are under 25 years old)
- Have completed at least 120 hours driving practice (including 20 hours of night driving)
- Pass a driving test
To get your provisional P licence you must:
- Have held a P1 for at least 12 months
- Pass the Hazard Perception Test (HPT)
To Get Full Drivers licence you must
- Have held your P2 for a minimum of 24 months
- Pass the Driver Qualification Test (DQT)
